Dear Sir Frederick
I am charged by the Duke to convey his warmest and most sincere thanks for the truly kind expressions of sympathy and condolence, contained in your letter to me and I should have ere this acquitted myself of my commission had it not been for a strained knee, which has laid me up for the last fortnight and made writing rather an exertion to me. I am now, I am thankful to say, tho' only since yesterday, again in the drawing room and inf you can spare time to come and see me in my tiny nutshell shall be charmed to have a visit from you answer the vive voix your kind inquiries after the Duke and assure you that we were both deeply touched at the kind thought and feeling that prompted the letter.
Believe me, Dear Sir Frederick, every very sincerely yours
Mary Adelaide
