Dear Ronald,
When Lorne received your telegram, I at once wrote off to Osborne, and asked that a message might be sent to Buckingham palace about the two Gainsboroughs. But I cannot help thinking that there has been some mistake, as Sir J Cowell told me the day before he went to Osborne that he had sent the list of pictures the Queen had approved of to Cripps and that they were being packed up; and asked me to let Mr Leighton know he had better communicate direct with Mr Cripps at Buckingham Palace as he Sir J Cowell w[oul]d be at Osborne.
Yours
Very sincerely
Louise Lorne
