My dear Sir
I am sorry to find that someone who, however, has left no name, has twice in my absence called on your behalf. He purposes I understand to call tomorrow. To prevent misunderstanding and a possible bootless journey I write to say that however willing I might be to help you in your pretty pamphlet I have not the faculty to allow either of my pictures to be reproduced. Unless therefore your representative is armed with distinct permission from the owner I could anyhow not authorize their reproduction. I should add that I am still working at the larger of the two and shall be till Monday when it goes in.
