Description | Dear Signor This will, I gather from your note, reach you on your birthday; may the day be the forerunner of a year of peace, & health (in the relative sense in which we old folks look for it) & work - & that should mean happiness to you & Mary - & may not few other years follow this one in like prosperity! For myself I am one day up & another down about my year's work. The light has proved so miraculous & the pictures are well forward. Whether they are going to be good is alas! still 'in [-]bibus'. I shall be proud to give you any brushes of mine that may serve your purpose, tho', indeed, I use those that I daub with (for I have different brushes for different functions, some hard & short, some long & filmy) to a very low ebb myself. What heavenly weather! Ever yours affect'ly Fred Leighton p.s. Best love to Mary |
