DescriptionDear Mary
Just a line to say that I have called together for Friday an informal meeting of some members of Council to consider in the absence of Mr Rossiter what offer we can make him - but I have not asked you because there can be no earthly reason for troubling you to come up. When the offer is formally made to him then it will be well to have a full commit. Will you kindly ask Signor to let me know on a post card in what form they are assessing him for his London House. I have just received my assessment & should like to protest. My home contains one master's bedroom - no one would give £355 a year for a house under these conditions, but if you and all my neighbours are [-] on the same lines, it is useless to protest.
Hoping Signor is thriving
I am with love
Always yours affec'ly
Fred Leighton
