The only right of acquaintanct I can claim too you is that of having had the pleasure to be in company with you several times, durring a short stay at St Petersbourg on my way to that place, and more particularly at the house of Gerenal Vasiley Tehachegoff, so that I have no doubt but you will recollect me.
I therefore undertake as Commander of their place to bring your view and to inform your of the good conduct and diligence at Sevastapole, Mr Rodetsky Poreykiced:
who is worth every recommendation, and in the full sense of the word, i reckon it no more than my duty to recommend him to your favourt and protection . -
In the meantime I can not but with sorrow inform you that in all his endavours; for the better regulation of the Hospital and relief of the sick; he meets not only with a number of difficultys, but even with abuse itself from the province of provisions &c. - So that should any such news or complaining reach you, you many easily judge the truth thereoff.
