DescriptionA scene based on the Greek myth of Hesperides. Decpits three female nymph like muses of drawing, painting and sculpture stand atop a smoke-breathing dragon that is lettered 'PRIVILEGE'. Behind the group is a large cactus plant, its leaves formed from artist's palettes bearing the names of Royal Academy academicians along with five faces of contemporary academicians, including that of the President of the Royal Academy, Frederic Leighton (1830-1896).
