DescriptionA circle of female muses for 'LOCOMOTION', 'HEALTH', 'ARMS', 'AGRICULTURE', 'SCIENCE' and 'ART sit with their arms outstretched holding wreaths. Each muse sits in front of a vignette scene illustrating contemporary aspects relevant to their field such as 'South 'Kensington', 'Royal Academy' and 'Illustrated London News' for 'ART'. Within the centre of the circle is a coin bearing Queen Victoria's head in profile. Below the 'shield' in the lower right foreground lie a crown, orb, sword and sceptre.
