DescriptionA pediment inscribed with ‘AQUARIUS’ and ‘PISCES’ holds a goldfish bowl with two fish (Pisces) and twigs that branch out over the scenes on either side. On the right is a 17th Century Dutch gentleman wearing ice-skates, nervously holding on to the pediment with his hat dropped on the ground. Another gentleman has fallen over whilst two others ice skate with a woman. On the right, Queen Victoria sits at a work box with the Houses of Parliament on top and boxes inscribed with ‘Tory Pins’ and ‘Liberal Needles’, a large pair of scissors, embellished with the head of a politician of the day, hangs by her side.
