DescriptionArtist's proof engraving on paper. A sleeping boy lays up against the grinning face of Grimaldi the clown which forms part of a tiger skin rug. A rifle lies by the boy’s feet among newspapers. Behind this is a huge, hollowed out Christmas pudding that houses a small smiling black boy and a white boy holding a rifle with ‘STANLEY’ written on his hat. On top of the pudding is an explorer holding a huge fork, a polar bear, bowls of ice cream labelled with different flavours and a large sprig of holly. Snow is falling and there is a faint face of a man holding up a spoon in the background along with a forest of Norway Spruce. A hound and a man riding a horse emerge from the forest, chasing a fox with a brush tail, around the Christmas pudding.
