Description | Standing before a broken window of a shop with the signs 'FISCAL SUPPLY ASSOCIATION LIMITED' and 'TARIFF DEPART[MENT]' is the Liberal politican Joseph Chamberlain (1836-1914) depicted as an irate shopkeeper angrily addressing the Prime Minister Arthur Balfour (1848-1930) who is attired as a schoolmaster in gown and mortar board. In the background the Conservative Party politician Hugh Cecil (1869-1956) depicted as a young pupil attired in an Eton suit looks back at the pair. |
