Description | The Chancellor of the Exchequer David Lloyd George (1863-1945) strains under the weight of a millstone which bears the words 'IN GRATITUDE FOR OLD AGE PENSIONS TO BE WORN BY ALL CHANCELLORS IN PERPETUITY' being tied around his neck by the Prime Minister Herbert Henry Asquith (1852-1928). Both wear ceremonial court dress with plumed cocked hats. |
