DescriptionA peacock with the head of the portrait painter and president of the Royal Academy of Arts, Francis Grant (1803- 1878), its tail featuring the heads of Royal Academicians, faces a newly hatched bird of paradise that is attired in a suit and top hat, its plumed tail inscribed 'THE GROSVENOR ART PARADISE., hovering above a bank cheque. The bird of paradises highly elongated and elaborate feathers end with a portrait and the names of the artists 'TISSOT/ BURNE JONES' and 'WHISTLER/ WATTS'.
