My dear Mr Leighton I hasten to acknowledge receipt of your letter enclosing the cheques for £80. Your idea of making them into drafts of £20 each was a most happy one, and I feel sincerely obliged to you for your thoughtfulness in this respect. Mrs Leighton will have received my letter of yesterday long ere this, and you will have learned the true cause of my Lina's not making her appearance. They all went into town yesterday, and succeeded in getting excellent lodgings at 11 Hollis Street Cavendish Square. They are very highly spoken of and recommended by everyone who has ever occupied them. The attendance good - a manservant being kept - and the cooking first rate. I will not say how very glad I shall be to see you - and how much I shall like you to see Martin. With you I trust it will not be necessary to remain long in London, but that the course of treatment he recommends can be equally well carried out in Bath, where I should have the additional advantage of a purer air - and a happier home. By the way we go into our lodgings the day after tomorrow (Thursday). Will you thank dearest Mama for her letter which I received this morning - and will answer as soon as I can. I trust Locock will be able to put my Lina in a fair way of getting quit of all she now suffers from very quickly, and then we shall be all happy. Good bye for today and with best love to you all Believe me ever Yours most affectionately S G G Orr I have been decidedly better for the last two days. The long journey floored me, but I have now recovered from its fatigues
