Description | A transcript of the letter can be found below:
Sandringham, King's Lynn 11 Jan 1865 My dear Leighton We were all much concerned at your melancholy departure yesterday, and The Prince has desired me to write to you to say how much he hopes that you did not find things too bad, as I fear you anticipated. And in this hope I am sure that we all concur. If unfortunately you I should have nothing but what is back to communicate. Pray do not trouble yourself to answer this letter, as your silence will be understood, but I trust that this may not be the case. Very truly yours Richard [-]
