Dear Sir Frederick,
I write a line to ask whether you got my old brown velvet gown all right as there was such a bustle of confustion with the Empress etc that I am not sure the parcel may have been taken away again. Should you like to have the bodice as well thought I fear the gold lace on it has made it appear dirty I will send it you and hop very much some day to see it made new again in one of y[our] lovely pictures. We were all so delighted with all y[our] beautiful pictures the other day.
