Eastwell Park, Ashwell, Kent
19 Nov [1876]
The Princess Louise had written to Mr Leighton on receipt of his letter, but did not send it, thinking that she had better wait till she had an answer from the Queen. The P[rince]ss wrote at once to the Queen, and hopes to be able to speak to her before long on the subject of the Exhibition at the Royal Academy. The Queen will at once ask the P[rince]ss wh[ich] pictures Mr Leighton proposes to have.
W[oul]d it not be a good plan if Mr Leighton were to go through the corridor and some of the private rooms, used for visitors, at Windsor, with Mrs Ponsonby (who know them well) before H.M.'s return or w[oul]d he like to wait till the P[rince]ss is at Windsor? Wh[ich] will be shortly, who w[oul]d be very glad to go over them with Mr Leighton. There is a picture by Hogarth of Garrick and his wife, in a room generally used by the P[rince]ss.
