Description | Foreign Office 31 Jan 1896 Dear Sir [H.T. Wells, RA] Sir Michael Hicks Beach having to-day conveyed to Lord Salisbury the wish of the Royal Academy that he should act as a Pall-bearer at Lord Leighton's funeral on Monday, I am desired by His Lordship to express his sense of the honour which has been done him in affording him this opportunity of paying respect to the late President. Would you kindly let me know as soon as possible at what hour and place Lord Salisbury should arrange to arrive. I conclude that ordinary mourning dress will be worn. Yours faithfully Schomberg MacDonald
