I do not know what will be done about a day for the critics - but I am entirely of your opinion in that matter and have, indeed, written to Sir Francis Grant on the subject as I shall be at Brighton Volunteering when Council next sits. I hope it may be carried.

By the bye, Burton is going to dine at the Academy Club dinner at Greenwich on the 2nd May (opening exhib) as my guest. Will you come too in the same capacity and help to talk French to him? They are jovial gatherings. We will go down together by boat at about five. I hope your throat is all right again.
