Your letter for us reached me here in Italy. If the Mr Linton of whom you speak is the distinguished engraver on wood and author of a work on that craft (and indeed I know of no other Linton except the P.R.I.) I am happy to join in your petition to Mr Gladstone - supposing that is, that I can do so by proxy for I am not returning to England until November.
Yes, poor Albert Moore's death deprives us of a most interesting and gifted artist.
