It is not from neglect that I have so long deferred thanking you for your very kind note - I was, in fact, only waiting to have had an interview with the sculptor from whom I rent my other studio as I was afraid some difficulty might have arisen in that quarter (he is leaving his old premises); - but I am happy to say that he can move my statue to the new place, and I therefore adhere to my resolution to finish your picture for the Academy & postpone the sculpture -
