Britten whose commissions only just enable him from job to job to drag along has finished Mr [?Kemsfield's] work & is once again workless & penniless! It seems very sad that such a fine gift should have so little recognition. I have from time to time myself given him work but of course what I can do is only in a small way. I feel that I ought at all count to tell you in case you should be ready & willing to employ him. I thought perhaps you intended decorating some more of the panels on your staircase. Anyhow you will understand my motive & won't be angry.
