Dear Hodgson
Many thanks for your letter. I feel that my imbecility in matters of business must be a real thorn in your flesh and I am very loth though yet obliged to ask one or two more questions. Am I to give all the Bonds to my Bankers today to keep so that they may as the time comes round draw the necessary dividends? And do I then rightly understand that nothing has really yet been drawn in the regular manner, but that you have in fact personally been kind enough to advance certain sums to be repaid by me to you on receipt of these dividends? That would account for the one sum being £40 and not £48 which would be the half year on Man. [Railway?]. I find that the Memphis and Ohio have also become due since 1st inst - that will I suppose be drawn by my bankers when I give them the coupons. And the same will no doubt apply to my little Boston City investment. Pray remember me most kindly to Mrs Hodgson and believe me.
Yours very tiresomely
But sincerely
Fred Leighton
