Many thanks for the report which I shall peruse with much interest - I have not in the least slackened in my sympathy and good wishes for the success of your crusade against [-] plaque but I am forced to decline to speak at all public meetings, because if I do so on one occasion I must do so on the numerous others on which I am asked to 'say a few words' and should soon cease to be a working man.
