Description | Monday Dear Mr Henriques, I have received you letter and am so very glad to hear of the zeal you describe on the subject of the autumn manoeuvres; for although under existing circumstances, the Corps cannot show itself in public in such small numbers as your suggest. I shall be delighted that a company should volunteer to join the camp (if a proper number of officers are ready to go) and I will ask my friend Col Lloyd Lindsay who lives on the spot and commands a local Battalion whther he will take you as a Company in his Regt. And I may add that if next year a large number of members are ready to turn out - so large that the Corps can appear as a Corps - I will myself undertake to postpone or even give up if necessary my annual trip to the Continent. Believe me, Truly yours Fred Leighton Corps Co 38 Rifles |
