Your groom came with your kind bidding just as I was going out I was therefore unable to express then, as I now do, my sincere regret I have already an engagement to dine on Sunday next and am so deprived of the pleasure of being your guest. I have not forgotten your amiable invitation for Wedy and if I get away from the terrible tableaux at Lady Freakes (in which I am concerned) at any hour compatible with work the next day I shall not fail to make you my respects; but you know the exigencies of a working man's life.
