Dear Mrs Lynn Lynton
Beyond a very small stock for my personal use I as P[residen]t have no control over the invitations to the Private View. I however brought your wish before the Council and, on your standing as a writer, it was readily acceded to. I seize this opportunity of begging you to believe that the extraordinary specimens of pendrivers that you do occasionally meet at B[urlington] House are not invited by the Council as representatives of letters - it would be too long to tell you how some of them get there.
