Je regrette infiniment, Monsieur, que votre lettre me soit parvenue trop tard, Messrs Coutts ayant du m'expedir le tableaux aussitot après en avoir rem livsaison, selon les instruction que je leur avais donneer. Ma seule consolation est l'espoir que vous viendrez un jour le voir a Chantilly, et que cela me procurera le plaisir des beaux arts avec les quells j'avais en Angleterre des relations si agreables me feront plaisir de faire de meme. Je serai heureux de cette occasion de leur temoigner ainsi qu a vous le bon souvenir que j'en ai conserve. Croyez-moi toujours.

I would be happy to witness to them and to you the good memories that I kept of this.
