Your question is much more difficult to answet than you would suppose. I do know a number of clever 'rising' young artists but young artists nowadays get such prices as soon as they paint really well that the sum you mention - or rather your friend mentions- would be no use. There may very likely be students at the R Academy who would take the price offered but would the preformance satisfy Mrs [Lowther?] ? I should very much doubt it. If you think otherwise I can enquire in the Schools. Shall I?
