Mr dear Leighton
I have heard that Mr Wright has resigned his place as Secretary to the Royal Academy. My dear friend Edward Pigott is a candidate for it. I can imagine no man to be more fit. Pigott is an Oxford man - a Master of Arts - and a perfect gentleman. He has hitherto been a writer for the daily press. If you can assist him I should be infinitely obliged to you, as I love the man dearly.
