DescriptionDear Signor
£5 is quite enough (send to H T Wood Secy Brit. Section Paris Exhib, Soc of Arts, John Street, Adelphi) but what picture? I always knew your appreciation of Holl. If he said nothing to you about the terrible Temple portrait (supposing him to have known of your recommendation) it was I am sure from shyness under the peculiar circumstances. He was a most nervous & exceptionally sensative creature but I am quite sure neither ungrateful nor ungracious. I am delighted to hear that you are doing two Eves for us. Happy you that can see to work! Words won't say what we have had - perhaps still have to go through.
I am very pleased that you think well of my Liverpool rigmarole.
Give my love to Mrs Mary & believe me
Yours affec'ly
Fred Leighton
