Many thanks for your kind letter. I'm glad you like my rigmarole. I have had some very gratifying letters on the same subject.
The winner of 5 prizes is a youth of very juvenile appearance - the son of Mountford the Curator in the School of Modelling. His chief prize the Gold medal in sculpture is very talented and justifies I think considerable hopes, but I fear that one cannot yet say more. I don't think anything very important is announced so far.
I do hope your cramps are better, nothing is more painful or distressing - when I have them (but that is now very rare) I jump up instantly and put my foot down on the cold fender - anything very cold will do. The effect is instantaneous - and the odd thing is that since I have known of this cure the ailment - as if forewarned - has almost entirely left me. We are having wonderful working light, in the main; but I am not working at the large picture as I have to advance the others first so as to keep them abreast. Besides I am waiting for longer days for it.
