DescriptionDear Signor
Many thanks for your kind letter. I am sincerely glad that you were interested in my discourse with which I took much pains, & for which I had to visit a very wide tract of country in a very short time. I am afraid my German friends won't be best pleased. I should much have liked Mary to be present when I delivered it, but quite understand that she does not like to be away from home when you cannot be with her. I am delighted to hear you give so good account of your general health, tho' you find caution needful. May you long retain not only your present conditions of strength but also that relish for work with which you are blest & which, after the love of her who is dearest to you is your best possession in life.
Val is here - his wife (who fears fogs) & the boys are in Paris for 3 months. Val is to pop over to see them once a month(!!)
Give my love to Mary & believe me with all good wishes
Affectionately yours
Fred Leighton
