Many thanks for your very kind note. How I wish you and Signor could be at my concert tonight, but I know these things are not to be hoped for. Give my best love to Signor & say that my general health is excellent but that I have a special (gouty) ailment which tho' not dangerous may demand serious care. I shall know more in a few days.
