Babylon Marriage Market painted by Edwin Long (1829-1891) depicts the sale by auction of young women in ancient Babylon and was purchased in 1882 by Thomas Holloway, founder of the Royal Holloway College. The exhibition casts new light on the painting and the history behind it. Arranged by Leighton House Museum in collaboration with Royal Holloway College and the British Museum.
