DescriptionA George III style beech triple chair-back settee; painted in old gold. Each seat has a triple splat back decorated with swags and medallions. Arms are open with baluster splats. The seat cushion is of squab type and is covered with a silk and [cotton] brocade in cream, pink and gold in a floral design. The base of the cushion is of even weave linen. Beneath the cushion, the settee seat is webbed and covered with just and cotton fabrics. The front seat rail is covered with brocade and trimmed with silk cord. Decorative nailing is also applied to the front edge. The settee sits on four square tapered legs carved each surmounted by a carved leaf frieze.
