DescriptionA burr maple tea caddy of sarcophagus form, with fine original colour and patina. The rectangular hinged top with carved beaded edge opening to reveal two removable, burr wood tea compartments with a central section for a glass mixing bowl (bowl missing). The sides of the caddy with carved gadrooned walnut handles, the front with a brass circular lock escutcheon. The rectangular base again with carved beaded edge, would original have stood on walnut bun feet.
