DescriptionPortiere curtain made of green wool plush, stamped [gauffered] with a floral design. The curtain is seamed vertically. It is interlined and lined with grey twill cotton fabric. The lower edge is trimmed with a green plied wool fringe 150mm long. The curtain edges are trimmed with a plied wood cord. The curtain heading is gathered onto a herringbone tape. Hooks stitched to the heading tape 200mms apart, loop into curtain rings on the Portiere rail. The curtain can be held to the right of the door with a tie back cord of green wool. The cord has a loop at one end and is knotted at the other and is threaded with a bare wooden slider (or tassel heading).
