DescriptionEmpire style rectangular mahogany veneered and stained beech work table with a hinged top and one drawer below in the frieze; ormolu mounts of wreaths, lyres and floral spray decorate the drawer fronts. The table stands on four turned columnar legs, united by curved stretchers, on circular plinth feet on castors; ormolu capitals and bases front the legs. The top mahogany lined interior contains two small hinged boxes, one containing a silvered candlestick affixed to the underside of the lid, the other an emerald pin cushion, and the lid has a mirrored panel; the lower drawer pulls out to reveal a writing slide lined with gilt tooled green morocco and is fitted with inkwells.
