DescriptionHepplewhite style mahogany shield-back dining chair with open arms. The open shield-back consists of three vertical splats centred by a framed oval rosette paterae. Chair is raised on square tapered legs with spade feet. Seat upholstered and covered in modern gold-coloured cotton velvet, with two rows of decorative nailing around the seat front and sides. The upholstery is covered, beneath the seat, with a brown, wool mix, bottoming fabric. The webbing underlies this. The upholstery is now fixed with staples.
