Booking a ceremony

If you wish to make a provisional booking for a marriage or civil partnership ceremony, this can take place at a number of different locations.

The locations include the ceremony rooms at Chelsea Old Town Hall (for ceremonies from 1 April 2019 onwards), Kensington Town Hall (for ceremonies from 20 August 2018 until 31 March 2019 inclusive) and several Approved Venues in the borough.

Chelsea Old Town Hall is closed for a full refurbishment from 20 August 2018 until 31 March 2019, during which time ceremonies will be delivered from Kensington Town Hall.

The 2 rooms available are:

  1. The Committee Room
  2. The Mayor’s Parlour

Provisional booking of the ceremony rooms at Chelsea Old Town Hall (for ceremonies taking place from 1 April 2019 onwards)

The 3 rooms available are: 

  1. The Harrington Room
  2. The Rossetti Room
  3. The Brydon Room

To make a provisional booking for a marriage or civil partnership ceremony, please phone us on 020 7361 4100 or email us at registrars@rbkc.gov.uk.

You will need to:

  • Select your preferred room
  • Provide a date and time
  • Pay a non-refundable booking fee of £100 to make the booking

Please have your debit or credit card to hand (we don’t accept American Express).

Provisional booking of an Approved Venue in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

To make a provisional booking for a marriage or civil partnership ceremony in an Approved Venue you should contact the venue to confirm their availability.

Please note that bookings for Approved Premises within the Royal Borough are also subject to a non-refundable booking fee of £100.

You will then need to:

  • Contact this office on 020 7361 4100 or email us at registrars@rbkc.gov.uk
  • Confirm with a member of staff that Registration Officers will be available on your chosen day and time

Ceremonies taking place within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are subject to our Lateness Policy.

To view the ceremony rooms, please email us at registrars@rbkc.gov.uk with your preferred date of visit.

We will then respond with the times which the ceremony rooms are available to view on the date provided.
