Sambourne House guided tours

An in-depth 90 minute guided tour throughout the historic interiors and collections in Sambourne House, the family home of legendary Punch cartoonist Edward Linley Sambourne. Our expert guides also provide  fascinating insights into the family life of the Sambournes as well as  information on the work of Linley as a celebrated illustrator.

Please note that tours will take place when the general public are also in the building. 

Who is this for?

Groups of over 18’s with an interest in art and illustration, interior design, architecture, Victorian culture or local history.  If your group has a particular area of interest please do let us know in advance and we will try and tailor the tour accordingly.

What days can I book a tour on?

On Mondays from 10:30am to 4pm. The  tours start with a 10-minute introductory film in the education room and will continue throughout the 4-storey house.   Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes, including the introductory film. Please note that Sambourne House closes to the public on Mondays however private tours can still be booked.

What is the capacity?

There is no minimum number of people however we ask for a maximum of 15 people per tour. Groups of more than 15 people will be split with the second half of the group starting 10 minutes after the first half.

How much does it cost?

£240 non-refundable advance payment.

If the group is more than 12 people,  an additional £20 per person cost will be incurred.

For universities, colleges and other adult educational establishments: 

£216 non-refundable advance payment.

If the group is more than 12 people,  an additional £15 per person cost will be incurred.

All tour payments are made at least two weeks in advance and are non-refundable.
