Access

  • Disabled visitors and carers are admitted at concessionary rate
  • Guide and assistance dogs are welcome
  • Due to the fragile nature of the building and current copyright restrictions, we do not allow photography in the house
  • Regrettably, wheelchair or step free access is not possible
  • The entrance to 18 Stafford Terrace is down steep steps to the basement

  • The house is arranged over five floors with steep stairs both externally and internally
  • A total of 77 internal stairs from basement level to the top of the house
  • The staircase has a handrail throughout but following the tour may be difficult
  • for the very elderly or infirm
  • Folding stools can be provided on request but there is no fixed seating for visitors
  • within the historic interiors
  • There is no accessible toilet
  • The lighting levels are low throughout the house

  • other bags must be deposited in the cloakroom
  • There is no fixed seating in the historic house but a number of folding stools are
  • available
  • There are no refreshments available on site but there are many cafes and restaurants
  • within a short walking distance of the house
  • There is no designated car parking for 18 Stafford Terrace and there is limited metered
  • car parking in the surrounding streets.  
  • The nearest car park is an undergound public parking facility in Hornton Street, under
  • Kensington Town Hall.
