The Leighton House Archive
The archive contains extensive material relating to Leighton,
his family and the history of the museum. Leighton's extensive
correspondence includes letters to many of his fellow artists,
members of the Royal Family and some of his most significant
patrons. The archive also includes material relating to his
grandfather, the physician Sir James Leighton, and to his parents
and two sisters Alexandra and Augusta. An extensive collection of
images of Leighton House is accompanied by material relating to its
early history as museum and development up until the present
day.
Access
Material from all sections of the archive has been
catalogued and is available for consultation. The 18 Stafford
Terrace archive is also stored at Leighton House Museum.
