In preparation for the start of the refurbishment of the museum later this year, we are clearing old shop stock and duplicate publications from the museum library – including many for the art enthusiast!. Do come and take anything that interests you and in return, please make an appropriate donation in the donation box provided. All proceeds will go to support education work in the museum.

 

ART & ANTIQUES FAIR OLYMPIA: CURATOR'S TALK

Enjoy London’s longest-running art and antiques fair (19 - 28 June), with an inspirational variety of furniture, art, sculpture and objects alongside jewellery, textiles, glass and ceramics; there is a piece for every one and every room! Their fascinating programme includes a talk by our Senior Curator, Daniel Robbins, on 24 June at 2pm

SCREENING SERIES: CINEMA FOR SYRIA

In aid of Hands Up Foundation

The programme, curated by award-winning director Soudade Kaadan, is an enchanted journey showcasing the talents of Syrian filmmakers despite the challenges they face in a country shattered by violent conflict.

STORIES OF THE SUN: A MAGICAL EVENING WITH VANESSA WOOLF

Friday 5 July, 7-8:30pm; doors open at 6:30pm

£15; includes a complimentary drink

Professional story teller, Vanessa Woolf, celebrates the Summer Solstice with a very special session exploring a selection of Leighton's works on display inspired by the sun and its myths. Doors open at 6:30pm for botanical cocktails courtesy of MamaXanadu's Wild Alchemy Bar.

DRINK AND DRAW IN LEIGHTON'S GARDEN

Thursday 11 July, doors open at 6:30pm; drawing from 7:15 to 8:30pm

£20; includes a complimentary drink, access to the museum and garden, and class

Unleash your inner artist and join our informal guided drawing sessions in Leighton’s garden, inspired by the view of his magnificent house and surrounded by the artists houses from The Holland Park Circle. In collaboration with London Fine Art Studios, with botanical drinks courtesy of MamaXanadu's Wild Alchemy bar.

LIFE-DRAWING AND PAINTING IN LEIGTHON'S STUDIO

Our popular afternoon sessions in Leighton's studio consist of a mixture of short exercises and longer poses, with reference to our permanent collection and expert tuition from artist Ann Witheridge, founder of London Fine Art Studios. The course is open to artists of all levels however for those joining sessions in June and July (long poses), drawing is advisable.
