LEIGHTON LATES AND LIVE MUSIC

Our popular Leighton Lates provide visitors with the chance to enjoy the house ‘out of hours’ until 9pm. With an atmosphere of their own, there is also the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary drink and listen to live music.

LONDON CRAFT WEEK TALKS AT LEIGHTON HOUSE MUSEUM

 

Experts in Conversation at Leighton House Museum: Two Lunchtime Talks

 

Wednesday 9 May, 12.30 to 1.30pm

Luke Hughes of Luke Hughes Furniture and Daniel Robbins, Senior Curator of Leighton House Museum, discuss the making of a copy of Lord Leighton’s original dining room sideboard.  Made possible also thanks to the support of the Finnis Scott Foundation.

 

Thursday 10 May, 12.30 to 1.30pm

Leather expert, Bill Amberg, and Agnieszka Dobrowolska on establishing a leather workshop for women in the cemeteries of Cairo’s City of the Dead.

LIFE DRAWING IN LEIGHTON'S STUDIO

Tuesday 24 April, 1 to 4pm

£30

Artist Ann Witheridge, founder of London Fine Art Studios, returns to Leighton House to lead a new series of her popular life-drawing sessions. Open to artists of all levels, each afternoon will consist of a mixture of short exercises and longer poses, with reference to the permanent collection and expert tuition from Ann.

OIL PAINTING CLASS IN LEIGHTON'S STUDIO

Tuesday 15 May, 1 to 4pm

£30 - £35

An oil painting class from the figure model. Artist Ann Witheridge, founder of London Fine Art Studios, revisits her popular figure sessions with this oil painting class consisting of a three hour long pose in the context on Leighton's studio, where students will be surrounded by some of the artist's most celebrated works.

LEARN AND DRAW: ARTISTS HOUSES, THE HOLLAND PARK CIRCLE

Tuesday 12 June, 10am to 1pm

Join this special workshop in partnership with London Fine Art Studios. Includes an introduction about The Holland Park Circle, a community of leading Victorian artists, and the chance to explore and paint the exterior of their former studio houses in Melbury Road and Holland Park Road (Kensington, West London)

Join us for a ninety-minute tour of the House which gives visitors the chance to enjoy and learn more about this unique studio-house and the fascinating life and career of Lord Leighton.

Please note that due to very high public demand for our public tours, larger groups are not permitted to join these tours. If your party size exceeds six people, you will need to book a Private Tour, please refer to the Private Group Tours section.

We host family activities every month, exploring an array of themes and presenting diverse activities to engage with parents and children alike. Keep an eye on our website and social media for upcoming sessions.

 

EASTER SUNDAY FAMILY ACTIVITY AT FULHAM PALACE

Leighton House Museum celebrates spring with its friends at Fulham Palace.  An afternoon packed with fun for all the family including a range of arts and crafts activities.  Join the Leighton House team and explore the wonderful portraits and carte de visite photographs from their collection. Get dressed up in Victorian costumes and learn how to cut your own paper silhouettes! Suitable for all ages.

FAMILY TAKE-OVER 

Join our monthly Family Take Over for an inspirational and fun afternoon exploring the different art forms, crafts and cultures manifested in the Museum’s collections and history. 

3-5pm (Activity starts at 3pm, please arrive from 2.45pm for a prompt start)

Children £3; FREE for parents / guardians

Suitable for children aged 6-11 years old, with a parent or guardian.
