Volunteer with us as an Early Years Parent Champion!
Actions

Did your family use funded childcare support? Did it help your child? If so, we need your help to support other families in your community.
We are looking for parents who had a good experience with accessing their funded childcare entitlements to share their story and help others. By joining our Early Years Parent Champions programme, you can help other parents understand the support available for childcare costs.
Your story could help them feel confident and get the help they need.
If you want to help other families and share the benefits you received, we would love to have you involved.
What is an Early Years Parent Champion?
These are volunteers who talk to other parents about the government-funded childcare offers and how this has benefited themselves and their children.
What will I have to do?
Early Years Parent Champions are able to spare 2 to 3 hours per week with the aim to talk to about 3-5 other parents. This can often happen as you go about your daily routine and come across other parents.
For instance, this could be when you visit local playgrounds, markets, clinics, community centres, school gates, family hubs or any similar places with your own children.
Will there be training?
To become an official Early Years Parent Champion volunteer, you will need to attend our four week mandatory training*, which will be held in collaboration with Coram Family and Childcare.
Training for our latest cohort will be held on:
- Wednesday the 7th of May
- Wednesday the 14th of May
The other half of this training will be held online.
The training sessions for this cohort will be held at Queen's Park Family Hub, 88 Bravington Road, London W9 3AL**.
*If you need to speak to someone about arranging childcare while you attend this session, then please contact out Coordinator Jade.
**If you incur any travel costs while travelling to our training venue then we would be happy to reimburse you for these, however we do require that you provide us with a valid VAT receipt for any Oyster Card top-up/travel card purchase.
How will this benefit me?
In addition to building your confidence, learning new skills and meeting like-minded people, volunteers will get:
-
access to further training opportunities
-
after 4 months: a written reference
