Short Breaks Personal Budgets

Instead of a managed budget where the local authority book and facilitate the child/ young person’s care package through our in-house services or external providers. Instead, you can manage the whole care package through the form of a personal budget.

This means the hours, and the cost associated with those hours, are paid to you/your child in the form of a direct payment. This follows the same process as a managed budget where direct payments are paid quarterly on to a pre-paid card. This can then be used to pay for activities and providers from our Short Breaks menu or alternative providers.

If you want a personal budget, please request this when you are being assessed by your allocated worker. If you already have a package, please contact one of the Direct Payment Leads.
