Further support for emotional wellbeing and mental health 16-25

Actions

If you’re aged 16 to 25 and looking for support with your emotional wellbeing, this section is here to help. Whether you’re feeling low, anxious, or just need someone to talk to, you’ll find local and national services that offer friendly, confidential support. From counselling and peer support to online communities and wellbeing activities, there are a range of options to suit your needs.

Insight Kensington & Chelsea

Insight KC offers free, confidential support to young people aged 12–25 dealing with drug or alcohol issues. They provide information, advice, and help, which can be particularly beneficial for young adults with SEND who may face additional challenges related to substance use.

Community Living Well Talking Therapies

This NHS service offers free, confidential psychological therapies for individuals aged 16 and over registered with a GP in Kensington and Chelsea. They provide support for anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues, which can be particularly helpful for young adults with SEND facing emotional challenges.

Peer Support services are available to individuals aged 16 and over with mental health needs. They offer group and one-to-one support, allowing young adults with SEND to share experiences and coping strategies in a supportive environment.

CAMHS: transition to adult mental health services

Are you moving to adult mental health services from CAMHS?

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) can only provide a service until around the time when you turn 18, so we'll need to start planning your next steps.
As you approach your 18th birthday, your CAMHS team will start to talk with you about the process of moving on from their service. We call this process of preparing, planning, and moving from CAMHS to adult service “transition”.
This leaflet is a guide about moving on from CAMHS and what this can look like: Download the ‘All about me’ booklet

Centre for ADHD and Autism Support

This centre provides support for individuals with ADHD and autism, offering services like counseling, workshops, and social groups. Their programs are designed to assist young adults with SEND in managing their conditions and enhancing their quality of life.

If you would like more detailed information on any of these services or assistance in connecting with them, feel free to ask.

The Mix is a digital support service for under-25s, providing free, confidential support on various issues, including mental health, relationships, and work. Their online community offers a safe space for young people, including those with SEND, to seek advice and connect with peers.
