The Bi-Borough Early Years and Inclusion Advisory Service

The Bi-Borough Early Years and Inclusion Advisory Service support registered childcare within:

• the private, voluntary and independent sector
• maintained nurseries
• reception classes
• nursery schools

to develop high quality, inclusive early education and childcare places for children in Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster.

The team aim is to raise standards and maintain high-quality outcomes for all children in childcare provision by providing:

• support to a range of early years providers
• advice and guidance on areas including the Early Years Foundation Stage; Ofsted; local and government wide updates and information; legislation
• training
• liaising with other services to ensure continuity of advice and guidance
• a higher level of support for settings that provide tailored support where there are children attending who have additional needs, funded places and involvement with social services to ensure that they are fully supported to achieve the highest possible outcomes

Also to:

• Work alongside managers and practitioners in early years settings, empowering them to become reflective and to continuously evaluate and improve their practice
• Support settings with children’s transitions, through practical support and networking events
• Support new providers through the setting up process and beyond
• Enhance knowledge on SEND and inclusive practice within the settings including upskilling SENCos
• Provide SEND advice and support via observations, phone or email contact and support completing funding applications such as SENIF and EHCP’s
