Work with NEET or at-risk of NEET:
The Targeted Prevention Team – also known as TPT, are the specialist NEET Team within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). Supporting young people who are NEET and those at risk of NEET. Working with 16 – 19-year-olds* (up to 25 with SEND with an active EHCP or not yet reached 16 if at risk of NEET) who live in RBKC.
The team work closely with schools, key professionals, stakeholders, and training providers, to identify those young people who are at risk of becoming NEET.
Deliver 1:1 and group work sessions:
The team deliver one-to-one, face-to-face sessions for bespoke support and interventions, these are mainly taking place at Oxford Gardens, Chelsea South or Lancaster North Hubs. Other community venues may also be suitable so please let us know if this is something you would like us to consider.
The team also offers group work sessions: which include Employability Skills – such as Job Searches, Interview Skills and Apprenticeships and Education sessions; ‘how to apply for Further Education’, or an ‘Apprenticeship’ as well as Enterprise and Wellbeing workshops.
At each session we help a young person complete an Action Plan with SMART® objectives.
IAG, Coaching and Mentoring:
Across the team there are qualifications in careers advice and guidance, mentoring and youth work.
TPT workers provide:
- Careers Information, Advice and Guidance
- Life coaching and motivational interviewing techniques
- Mentoring.
Professionals’ notification of NEET and at NEET risk of NEET:
Professionals can contact the team directly, by email or telephone to discuss a young person who is NEET or at risk of becoming NEET. If they are not already open to the team, the young person will be allocated to a TPT worker. The assigned TPT worker will contact the young person and arrange initial session.

TPT 2 Year Business Plan 2021-23:
TPT’s Business Plan sets out the strategic priorities for the team. Whilst it is a two year Plan, it will be reviewed after one year to take account of any new initiatives or strategic and operational changes that have occurred during the first year.
