Work with NEET or at-risk NEET:
Targeted Prevention Team – also known as TPT, are the specialist NEET Team within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). Supporting young people who are NEET and those at risk of NEET. Working with 16 – 19 year olds* (up to 25 with SEND with an active EHCP) who live in RBKC. The team work closely with schools, key professional stakeholders and training providers, to identify those young people who are at risk of becoming NEET.
Deliver 1:1 and group work sessions:
The team deliver 1:1, face-face sessions, these are mainly taking place at Malton Road, Oxford Gardens, Chelsea South Hub or Lancester North Hubs.* due to Covid, face to face sessions are restricted.
The team also offers group work sessions: which include Employability Skills – such as Job Searches, Interview Skills. Apprenticeships and Education sessions; ‘how to apply for Further Education’, or an ‘Apprenticeship’. Wellbeing and enterprise workshops.
Each session an Action Plan is completed with SMART® objectives.
IAG, Coaching and Mentoring:
The team are qualified in careers advice and guidance; mentoring and youth work.
TPT workers provide
Careers Information, Advice and Guidance;
life coaching and motivational interviewing techniques
Professionals notification of NEET and at NEET risk of NEET:
Professional can contact the Senior Targeted Prevention Team Coordinator directly, by email, or telephone to discuss a young person who is NEET or at risk of becoming NEET. The young person will then be allocated to a TPT worker - if they are not already allocated. The assigned TPT worker will make contact with the young person and arrange initial session.
Sustaining EET opportunities:
